Frequently Asked Questions

How is your approach to online tutoring better?

It is our philosophy that online tutoring can and should be impressively efficient, especially given the technology available to us today. By utilizing a 22-inch graphics tablet designed for digital artists, we deliver a fluid, clear, immersive learning experience. Students can share homework via email or text and we can paste it into our whiteboard in seconds, drawing over figures, annotating, and solving problems. The same can be done with problems from Collegeboard’s SAT PDF documents. Best of all, we create a Google Doc for each of our students where we store screenshots of all worked out problems. This way, they can return in their own time to master problems that once gave them trouble, especially in the weeks leading up to a test date.

Do you assign homework?

Yes! Independent study is absolutely critical to improvement in test-taking. Just as an Olympic coach designs workouts for athletes to perform on their own, we mastermind the prep plan as a whole, which includes a substantial amount of practice, checking answers and explanations, and reflecting upon any errors made while taking a practice section.

Of course, some students are incredibly busy and can only do so much, and it could be they only need a few more points to hit their target score. We have worked with many such students, so we know the importance of a custom-tailored self-study schedule that will accomplish what students need in the time they have.

How much can I hope to improve my score?

This is mostly a consideration of how much time you have to commit to your self-study plan. The higher scores on these tests are meant to accurately differentiate between the highest levels of student capability. In other words, it won’t be easy! There is a lot to learn, regardless of the test you’re preparing for. We will give you all the tools you need to master each and every question type on the test as well as a customized prep plan designed to fit your schedule; it is then up to you to execute on that plan and complete what is, in an academic sense, a hero’s journey.

What are your payment options for online tutoring?

We currently accept Paypal and Venmo as payment methods. Payment is due at the time of each meeting. We also offer prepayment options for your convenience. Contact us for more details.
