How They Learn

We know the challenges you face as you homeschool your family. You search for just the right curriculum to prepare your child for their future, but too often the "one-size-fits-all" approach of most curriculums fails to give your student everything they need during this critical time.

Different Gifts Need a Different Approach

Everyone has been blessed with different gifts and talents. Many curriculums fail to recognize the differences in learning styles and strengths. Often, their "cookie-cutter" approach assumes that everyone learns best by reading a textbook. That is great for the students who do learn well in that way, but studies have shown that even for them, learning is enhanced when more than one medium is used to present material. And what about those students who learn best hearing the material explained to them or seeing the labs/problems demonstrated? For them, learning any subject by the "cookie-cutter" textbook method is less than optimal and can be difficult.

Learning Is Enhanced With a Multi-Faceted Approach

We have experience teaching several children with very different learning strengths and we have designed our curriculum to accommodate the needs of those varied styles. Our comprehensive approach uses textbooks, but also provides an in-depth video lecture on all the material found in the textbook. Additionally, most homework problems and all labs are presented in a video format. No more searching back through several chapters so you can assist your student with the homework problems or explain the lab.

Capstone's multi-faceted approach to presenting material uses each student's natural style strengths to ensure successful mastery of the subject.
